The Idaho Statesman[/url]"]Meanwhile, Ben Wells was putting together a solid start on the mound. The Chicago Cubs’ seventh-round draft pick in 2010 pitched four scoreless innings before giving way to Jose Rosario in the fifth inning.

 

“After the long bus ride (from Eugene) I was just trying to get my legs under me,” Wells said. “But I felt like I commanded everything pretty well.”

 

Wells finished with one earned run in 4.1 innings. He struck out three, walked two and allowed three hits and now has a 2.89 ERA.
