Chuck's Inactivity

What should we do here? We were all very patient as he held up round after round of the draft to make his pick. While he got better about managing his pitching starts, he doesn't appear to be making the necessary roster moves to make his team legal. He currently has guys on the DL in his starting line up, and guys who have been off the DL for a few weeks now that are still on his DL.

 

The commitment of a few minutes each week just isn't there, and I don't think it's asking all that much to make sure your line up is legal and competitive each week. I can certainly understand and respect if he's so busy that he just doesn't have time to manage his team, but if that's the case, maybe someone else can take over the team until he has the time to dedicate to managing the team once again. This has been an ongoing problem for a while now.

Did he ever pay? If he can't manage the team, maybe it's time for a new manager. Hate to say that as much as I like Chuck, but maybe it is time.

i'm not sure that you'd find someone to put the effort into maintaining his lineups and improving his team with the expectation that chuck will take over managing that team whenever he has more free time.

 

i think you just need to tell him that he needs to be more active and attentive to his team for the remainder of this year and if he's not, then he'll be replaced immediately after this season.

He's been a pretty good owner for a long time up to this year. I know he's having a hard time keeping up online due to his new job, which will hopefully stabilize before too long.

If his work is going to stabilize soon, then we can probably remain patient for a bit longer. Not managing your team one week, but then managing it another can be perceived as unfair to those teams that aren't facing the same level of competition, and that's my concern.

Chuck still would have lost by 2 points this week if he had Howie Kendrick in place of the injured Freddy Sanchez and Jason Heyward in place of the struggling Raul Ibanez, but that still doesn't excuse leaving these guys on his DL. They have not been on the DL for several weeks now. If he had Derrek Lee in place of Raul Ibanez with Heyward in there as well instead of Corey Patterson, he would have won.

 

Can he at least get his roster legal during this busy time in his life?
