Nothing like leading by over 20 and having a pitching start advantage remaining. That doesn't happen with my team very often.

Barney to DL. So the Quakers have benched Barney, brought up Gorden from the minors, and demoted Nicasio to the minors.

ridiculous...

I go 8-26 with 8BB, 2 HR, 2 SB; get both relievers in action and get 12 points from them; pick up a lucky 30 point start from Karstens of all people in an emergency fill-in; score 78 points on the day...and lose 32.75 points to my opponent.

That's my opponent who got only 3 points in one of his two starts today, btw. Tootie's team has gone completely nuts lately.

Sounds like a good day to me ;-).

Freeman did not play Tuesday due to oblique and is day to day. Replaced Freeman with Young and Reynolds off the bench to replace Young at 3B

Really, your team already has racked up 195 pts in 2 days ? No chance.

The Dealers have now given up 3252 pts. For reference, that's nearly 800 more than the 1st place team in the East and over 700 more than the 2nd place team.

I'm a little disappointed that Verlander did't hit that no-hitter yesterday. I think I am also due to lead the week in points too. Its pretty damn amazing your 7-3 with that many points against.

what are the rules about keepers for next year? if a guy uses up his rookie status, does that mean he needs to be kept as a major league keeper? (and counts against your allotted 10)

also, someone in our league has wilson ramos in the minor leagues, which really shouldn't be allowed since he hasn't been in the minor leagues all year and has almost 200 PA's in the majors.

btw if anyone has lousy OF/util or RP, i'd still like to trade ichiro/markakis and papelbon/valverde. not elite production but can help make the playoffs. prefer to acquire draft picks unless a prospect were included who represented an upgrade from my current prospects (who are very good)

also would trade either of my decent SP (mcclellan, pavano) for a mid-round pick.

This is addressed in the rules thread. A player is minor league eligible until the first time he has more than 200 at bats (not plate appearances) in a season. Ramos will likely lose minor league eligibility within the next few weeks but he still has it for now.

ah okay. so if, say, anthony rizzo bats 199 times this season then can i keep him in the offseason as a minor league keeper?

I've never brought him up and he was minor league eligible when I acquired him. He'll definitely be brought up when I need to. Don't worry, I pay attention as to not cheat.

But, he will have burned an exemption already.

two guys i acquired in the halladay trade were in the top 3 of the BA prospect hot sheet this week (shelby miller, kipnis) while the prospect i sent back was #6. so far i'd think that trade has been a win for both sides.

If minor leaguers scored points, you might be close to being right.

i looked at last year's prospect draft - bukie picked julio teheran 14th, shelby miller 19th (then he somehow ended up on tim's team) and mike trout 46th. those are arguably the top two pitching prospects and the top hitting prospect in baseball. fantastic drafting.

and he got anthony rizzo with the 78th pick; rizzo has already reached the majors and is playing 1b for san diego. the only bust was hector rondon, who blew out his elbow or something.

well by that logic i should deal mike trout for ryan theriot so i can be the clear winner of a trade.

It's not who wins a trade that matters, but who wins the league. Not that I mentioned Theriot, but he is currently scoring more points than Trout, and when both are out of baseball entirely, it remains to be seen who will have accumulated more big league points for their respective managers.

Halladay might just help Tim win a league championship this year. I'm not sure any of the guys you got in the Halladay trade will ever make an all star team, let alone win you a league championship. But, I guess there's nothing wrong with dreaming that all of your prospects turn out to be major league studs. But, pardon us if we don't pre-order you that case of celebratory champagne these guys might get for you 3 or 4 years from now.

Experiencing Turbulence has picked up Leonys Martin but that player has not been available for an amateur draft yet since he only just signed with the Rangers on May 4th. Am I correct in this thinking that Martin cannot be picked up yet by any team?
