Given his arm action, it's not surprising he'd eventually get hurt. This year seems as good as any to get the TJS out of the way.

Oxford, OH? Go to Miami? Alumni? I graduated in 2006

His slider clearly wasn't doing anything last night. I think it's possible he's trying to focus on his control a bit more so purposely taking something off his pitches. His BB/9 rate is down 1 from last year and almost 2 from two years ago.

Or maybe he's elbow/shoulder is boned and he needs surgery.

Yeesh, that chart is terrifying. The production - until last night - had still been there, but it's hard to argue with that kind of consistent drop in velocity. His slider wasn't doing much last night, either.

Alumni, graduated in '06 as well. Just haven't changed my profile since.

A lot of pitchers lose velocity as when they move into their late 20s. Not all pitchers throw as hard in the their late 20s as they do their early 20s. It doesn't always mean they are hurt.

Of course, he could be hurt but a drop in velo doesn't always mean an injury. Given his propensity to throw sliders, I would bet on him being hurt though. You'd think it's his elbow, but tommy john injuries aren't often preluded by drops in velocity, shoulder injuries are.

Could we just declare a week off to rest and rehab, you know call it an early All-star break, considering we won't have anybody going to the all-star game

that seems like a very poor prediction.
