With all the guys being brought up lately, I'm surprised there havnt been any corresponding moves. This would be a great opportunity to move around some guys like Flaherty, Sspencer, Ridling, Bour, Lake, and Crawford. Obviously not all, but some.

Well, Lake was just promoted. And if they'd have asked me, I would've promoted Flaherty over LeMaheiu. He's two years older and plays the same positions Baker does.

Agreed, I would have called up Flahery over LeMahieu.

Cam Greathouse was nearly unhittable today. His control, on the other hand...2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 6 BB, 6 K, 72 pitches, 35 strikes.

lol @ cam greathouse's line: 2.1 ip, 1 h, 0 r, 6 bb, 6 k. he's now walked 38 batters in 43 innings (and 29 bb in 25 ip in may) after walking 11 in 44.1 ip last year. wtf

I was just thinking about the same thing. The only positive explanation I could come up with was maybe he's working on a new pitch. After all, especially at the lower levels, the minors is for development more than performance. Other than that, it's possible he's just not...not good.

More XBHs from Szczur today. A double. His 10th. Alcantara with a 2B and a 3B. He, like a lot of young dominican players, struggles with plate discipline, but when you keep in mind that he's just 19 and will be all season, he remains intriguing.

His control has been the big question since he was drafted and he's facing a tougher level of competition than Boise last season.

Even more XBHs for Szczur - he just hit HR #2.

So then as Chevy Chase told Rodney Dangerfield, "You're not...you're not good".

Though if he was able to refine his mechanics such that his delivery is consistently repeatable, then he might be good.

I'm going to throw this out there, but I think Szczur is going to wind up somewhere in the top 100 next season. Callis loves him, as it is. And if he moves to Daytona and does anything like he's doing in Peoria, we've got ourselves a very well thought of prospect with him for sure.
