Radio Highlights

http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r71/bcvm22/sigzeon/cubsterbanner2011.png

The calls of the 2011 season as brought to you by Pat Hughes ("This ball's got a chaaaance..."), Keith Moreland ("I can butcher the English language with the best of them"), Judd Sirott (...) and the occasional Dave Otto ("You gotta be some kinda strong...") on WGN Radio 720 AM. Continually updated as the season rolls on.

All MP3s are direct from MLB.com's Gameday Audio online radio feed (an excellent value if you don't already have it; home and road team radio feeds for every game, pre-, regular and postseason for only $20 flat), recorded and mixed with Audacity and tagged with iTunes. Please preemptively forgive any rough edits you might come across; I know there are a few scattered across these MP3s.

All highlights are tagged with album art, the date, the score and a brief summary matching those found here (viewable in an iTunes playlist by selecting View > View Options and checking the "Comment" checkbox or by right-clicking the track, selecting Get Info and viewing the Info tab, or in Windows Media Player by right-clicking the track, selecting Properties and viewing the Content tab).

April 2, 2011 - Cubs 5, Pirates 3

Trailing all game, the Cubs roar back and score five runs in the 8th inning, capped by a go-ahead 2-run double by Blake DeWitt and followed by Carlos Marmol striking out the side for the save as the Cubs notch their first win of 2011.

April 18, 2011 - Cubs 1, Padres 0

On a frigid night in Chicago, Tyler Colvin treats the Wrigley faithful to a walkoff win against the Padres, lacing a pinch-hit, game-winning double into the right field corner to score Geovany Soto from first base.

April 20, 2011 - Cubs 2, Padres 1

Two innings after Carlos Marmol blows the save, Reed Johnson shocks all of Wrigley, including Pat Hughes, as he homers to left to end the first game of a doubleheader against the Padres in the most dramatic of fashions.

April 23, 2011 - Cubs 10, Dodgers 8

Out to a lead early, the Cubs end up down late, but Starlin Castro and Darwin Barney tie the game and Jeff Baker smacks the go-ahead two-run double, followed by a Carlos Marmol save as the Cubs come from behind to defeat the Dodgers at Wrigley.

May 7, 2011 - Cubs 3, Reds 2

Despite a rare Wrigley Field over-the-wall ground rule double, the Cubs give the home fans something to toast, scoring two runs off of Francisco Cordero in the 9th inning on a leadoff home run by Carlos Pena and a game-winning single by Kosuke Fukudome.
