Thoughts on Randy Moss for this week?

I have Moss vs Mia, Bess vs Ten, D Jackson vs Wash and S Johnson vs Det. I have to start three.

Jackson and Johnson are no-brainers at this point. It comes down to an almost sure 5-10 from Bess vs all-or-nothing from Moss.

I also have a choice at QB. Fitzpatrick vs Det or Orton vs KC.

If it's PPR, start Bess. If not, go with Moss. Bess has 6 straight weeks (7 of 8) with at least 5 catches. Moss can't possibly know the Titans offense well enough to have a 5 catch game (only 2 this season). However, one thing Moss can do on any team is run a go or post route. I'd imagine Tennessee will at least give Moss a couple shots to make a play deep if for nothing else, to help out Chris Johnson.

Also, go with Orton. In my leagues, Orton is the #5 QB in one league and #2 in the other league. Better choice than Fitzpatrick, regardless of how well he's been playing. If you want numbers, Detroit is 21st against the pass. KC is 22nd, so playing Orton is also playing the matchup.

1 PPR League:

Starting Fitz, Maclin, McCoy, Bradshaw, and Forte

But have a bench of Moss, Dez Bryant, Knox, and Shonne Greene. Am I thinking straight?

I also have Rodgers on bye and have Cutler as backup. Should I add Troy Smith, Cassel, Pennington, or Young (plus McCoy/Kitna/Farve all available)? I like the Smith matchup, but he may not even start.

pick one, 1 ppr:

woodhead @ PIT

olsen v. MIN

shianco @ CHI

Woodhead. Pittsburgh has a good rush defense, but Woodhead should be good for a lot of short passes. Shiancoe and Olsen are inconsistent. Wow, I also have all 3 on my team.

Hey, I also have Rodgers, McCoy and Bradshaw. Nice.

I think I'd take a risk with Moss. Also, I might play Knox over Maclin as well. Vick likes DJax. I'd probably go with Forte because he can always catch the ball. I could easily see another poor rushing effort though from him.

I don't feel strongly about the QB's, as I don't think any of them is a lock. Troy Smith has been named the starter, I believe. I'd still roll with Cutler.

Brown, Blount, Fitzgerald.

I always seem to have Ronnie Brown in at least 1-2 leagues a year, even though I don't intend to draft him entering the year. He just always seems to be at a value spot in my mind. Maybe it means I overvalue him without really liking him that much.

Thanks for the advice, starting Fitzgerald scares me at this point so I was trying to get an unbiased opinion or two.

A lot of Woodhead going on here.

Colston out with bye for me.

Pick 1: 0.5 PPR league

Woodhead vs. Pit or Amendola vs. SF

I keep going back and forth.

I think Woodhead will get a lot of dump off passes. I was trying to figure out whether he'd get enough YAC to be worth starting ahead of Ronnie Brown, but I think he's probably better than Amendola in a PPR league this week.

Need a quick answer.

At WR/TE, in a PPR league.

Mike Sims Walker vs. Houston

Jacob Tamme vs. Cincy

Houston is the 32nd ranked pass D, but Sims-Walker has 4 games this year of less than 5 points. I can't afford to have that in my lineup.

Cincy is a middle of the road pass D, but the Bengals haven't allowed much to TEs this year. However, Tamme has played 2 games and averaged 23 points per game.

AAAAARGH!

My big money league, made all the right starting decisions (except should have started Moreno over Blount), but it didn't matter because I had Vick as my QB.

My other league, I started Eli Manning over Vick. Eli did fine, giving me 23 or so points, but I lost by 23 points and had Vick on the bench in that league with 57.

I was Vick-temized and shot with a Bowe. Ouch

The guy with Bowe in my league put up over 200 points. It's PPR and we have 3 individual defensive players, but that's freaking impressive. He had Bowe, Orton, Charles, another 20 point RB, and a 20 point defense from this week.

The guy I lost to put up 160, but he had Brady, Roddy White, and Andre Johnson and that was basically it.

Vick was my backup, but somebody dropped Whitten after a few weeks. Seemed like a good idea at the time. So I started Whitten and the KC defense. 4 points between them, and lost by 25.
