Pistons coach gets a big assist for taking BG out early in the 4th and not bringing him back in until after the Bulls took the lead with under 2:30 left.

I'm not sure how Rip Hamilton continues to get as much burn as he does. He's useless.

Here I said it. If Noah and Rose keep those stats up the Bulls won't need Anthony.

Disagree. He's averaging 29 shots a game after the first 2 games. The next closest person is Durant with 24. I'm not saying Rose hasn't done well but averaging 33 points on 29 shots is not very efficient at all. Think back to post Shaq pre Gasol Kobe when he was just throwing up shots by the boatload because no one else could, scoring 50-60-80 points in a game. And even he still topped out at 27 shots per game. Think pre-Pippen Jordan. Most he averaged in a season is 27.8 shots per game. Of course that year he averaged 37 PPG. It shows a guy who is trying to shoulder too much of the scoring load because there aren't enough options to help him.

All that said, obviously there is sample size involved. But bottom line is, Rose will not be efficient unless he gets to the FT line quite a bit more. As it is right now he's playing well but not nearly as well as his counting stats would suggest.

Yep, welcome to the season Luol. Nice to see Korver and Brewer getting involved too. Portland's a good team though and it'll probably be a case where we need Rose to close them out.

Deng is such an inconsistent player. He goes from a horrible couple of games to 20 points in first half tonight. I imagine he'll probably disappear this half too.

is this on national TV or just CSN?

Neither I believe. Wciu

why does that stupid channel still exist? (besides to [expletive] with everyone outside of the Chicago area)?

You can't look at shots per game compared to points in a vacuum. Kobe didn't have a great shooting percentage during that time, but he took the ball to the bucket and was constantly fouled. When you are fouled you are going to have a lower shooting percentage. Is Rose getting to the line much?

No... He's not and that's my entire point. The entire reason to look at points per shot is to measure how efficient he's been in the game by including FTM and 3 pointers. If rose was getting to the line he'd be scoring more like 45 points on 30 shots instead of the 28 he had in the opener.

Anyways point is moot as Rose scores only 16 points on 11 shots tonight. Oh and he also dished out 13 dimes in an attempt to shut up people who don't think he can be a pure pg. He really made things happen tonight as did deng obviously.

Very nice win.

Portland didn't make a single 3 pointer, haha. Deng was awesome, Rose showed a nice over all floor game, and we had a nice twin towers look going for a big part of the contest. Just gotta stop fouling so damn much and our defense will be all right. Korver's starting to get involved too which is really nice to see. Also the guys we threw at Roy on defense were really nice.

Man 40 points on 19 shots for Deng. He's got that corner 3 down pat.

I forgot to read your last line. My bad.

Wow Luol scored 40. In one game. In his first few years Deng shot threes. Then the coaching staff realized he wasn't very good at it for the time being. But I give the guy credit for progressing in that area. If your PG can't shoot threes, your SF better be a three point threat.

give credit to thibs for the 3's. he stopped practice and yelled at loul for taking a long 2 during a preseason scrimmage. that would always drive me crazy with loul.

apparently scalabrine will take his place when it comes to taking silly long 2's

The worst shot in basketball. Deng loved it.

Great win last night. That was a nice, easy win over a pretty good team.

That's great, it should be everyone's answer when someone talks about career highs.
