Ricketts in the booth...

 

hoping to "carry over the momentum to next season".

 

- came in last october with three goals

1) build winning organization and reach world series

2) refurbish Wrigley

3) become more active in community

 

Feels good about 2 & 3

 

he wishes we had done better at the major league level. Pleased with how the team has ended the year.

 

Raving about Castro and other rookies and how that makes them optimistic about the future.

 

ricketts doesn't plan on attending any of the playoff games - doesn't generally attend non-cubs baseball.

 

he's gone from being a "fan" to being a "responsible fan".

 

He'll be in the booth for the bottom half, also.

Talking NW vs IL

 

Talking about the Cubs organization record being second amongst all 30 teams at the minor league level. feels we are building good strength at the farm and should see several key contributors over the next few years come from the minors.

 

Plans to attend organization meeting in November and will head to the dominican academy to see what's happening down there (nice vacation in December!).

 

Most conversations with fans these days have been centered around suggestions for who should be the next manager, but he didn't name names. Considering it was fan suggestions, gotta believe Ryne was mentioned most often at Wrigley.

 

And that was it. Not a hard hitting interview from Len & Bob.
