Smokies lost 7-6. Caridad gave up the go-ahead (unearned) run in the 9th.

 

Carpenter was bad. Guyer hit another home run. Canzler and Thomas had good games.

I should have been more specific. I find it odd that a player on rehab assignment can participate in the league playoffs.

Caridad isn't the only one; Andy Pettitte was starting in a minor league playoff game while on a rehab assignment.
