peoria's offense did next to nothing again and frank batista was mediocre. that's about all there is to say about that game.

junior lake walked in his first PA. 30 BB/71 K isn't great (in 89 games) but it sure as hell beats 18 BB/138 K. he looked like a guy who could take a walk in the AZL, i wonder what happened to him last year. maybe he just got in a funk and wasn't coached out of it, or maybe he was just too raw in his development for full-season ball. either way, i hope this is a real breakthrough from him and not the type of "breakthrough" that kyler burke made.

From what I've gathered, Lake made a mechanical change in his stance which allows him to see the pitch longer and theoretically reduces guessing.

Dae-Eun Rhee's conditioning coming back from TJS has been impressively suspect this season. He's been consistent in terms of falling apart in the 5th and 6th.

reggie golden isn't playing again for the AZL cubs. he plays one game and then sits for two? lame. plus there aren't many interesting hitting prospects in short-season ball right now.

ackerman was not awful (2 ip, 0 r) again. cameron greathouse (which sounds like a douchebag frat president) had a good start as well. 35 year old alvaro ramirez is 3-3 with a triple, continuing to prove that it's easy to beat up on kids half your age.

Well, he can pick on the NWL kids but he struggled in the MWL while being old for the league.

I was surprised that Ramirez wasn't promoted to Peoria when Szczur left for football. I know he struggled the first time at Peoria but he's old enough that you can't leave him in Boise.
