In 7.2 innings at Boise, Aaron Kurcz has struck out 15 batters. That works out to 17.6 K/9 (nearly 2 Ks an inning).

He's pretty much come as advertised: A dominating reliever who can rack up lots of Ks, but has occasional issues with BBs.

good pitching today:

dolis: 5 ip, 3 h, 2 er, 0 bb, 5 k, 1 hr

mcnutt: 5 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 0 er, 0 bb, 5 k, 1 hbp

struck: 6 ip, 3 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 9 k

coleman wasn't good, but whatever.

chirinos is 3-3 with a double, homer and 5 rbi. ideally he should be playing every day at AAA but castillo is already doing that. chirinos should definitely get a cup of coffee in september and get some playing time when soto is off.

On a day when McNutt and Dolis started, I can't believe Struck racked up the most Ks on the farm.

Struck's last 8 stars has been really really good

According to MiLB.com, his last three starts have been really really good. He's had two pretty bad starts in his last eight.

Whatever, here's hoping he can keep going like he has in July. 3 starts, 18 IP, 11 hits, 16 Ks, 1 walk and an ERA of 1.00
