Considering he's not in Iowa's starting lineup today, your assumption seems correct.

Despite being down 9-4 in the 5th, Iowa rallied back and scored 8 runs to take a 12-9 lead going into the 8th...only to give up 7 runs in the next two innings to lose 16-12.

Austin Kirk made his Boise debut tonight and pitched 4 innings, giving up 5 hits, 3 runs(all earned) walked 2 and struck out 5. He gave up 2 homers.

It's been awhile since I've seen Marquez Smith mentioned around here. Does he have any sort of future with the Cubs? He is a few years older than Vitters, but is also further along in the farm. I think if we have to shut down Ramirez in the near future I rather give this guy a shot than Chad Tracy.

IIRC, he was a guy who had a lot of tools but was pretty raw for being a college player when he was drafted. His first year in Peoria was pretty good, but it looks like he never built on that. I don't know how is defense is, but that will probably determine whether or not he ever gets a shot as a utility player.

Maybe it's the picture, but Kirk is a lot thicker than I remember.
