Solid outings for Rhee and Antigua:

Rhee - 6 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 HR, 9-3 GO-FO - I think that's a season high in Ks for Rhee

Antigua - 4 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K

Aramis is 0 for 2 with a walk and a strikeout so far.

Brett Jackson continues to hit well - he's 2/4 thus far with 2 doubles. Ryan Flaherty hit his 17th double of the season. He's been stellar since being demoted to Daytona (he's OPsing about .880 at Daytona).

Justin Bour also hit his 6th home run of the season. He's hit 5 home runs in his last 9 games.

Aramis finishes 0/3 with a BB and a K.

EDIT: It was an intentional walk.

Went to the game in Peoria. Aramis didn't do much but I didn't take too much from it because he was swinging for the fences every time he swung the bat. It was the first time I've seen a Major Leaguer in a rehab start so seeing Ramirez in a single A team's uniform was strange.

Vitters replaced sometime during the game by Nate Samson tonight, and vitters also listed as being hit by pitch. Anybody know anything?

Vitters had an AB after his HBP, so it might have been nothing.

There are some nice highlights in there for me tonight:

Box Scores

SP T. Diamond 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 6/0 K/BB, 3-9 GO-FO

RF B. Guyer 1/3, R, RBI, HR (6), K

CF B. Jackson 2/5, R, RBI, 2 2B (16), SB (12)

SS J. Lake 0/3, BB, K

SP DE Rhee 6 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 5/1 K/BB, HR, 9-3 GO-FO

I've been on Diamond since we picked him up last year. He's really showing improved command as the season goes along. I'm hoping he gets some sort of shot at some point this year.

Guyer is getting my attention again. He failed miserably at his first run at AA and had a slow start this year. But he's been killing the ball lately and isn't ancient as a prospect by any means at this point.

The biggest two things Jackson has had to do to improve on his start to the year were to show some power and reduce the strikeouts. This was a nice game.

Junior Lake with another walk. Make it a habit, kid!

Rhee with a few more strikeouts this time around. If he can keep that up I will be more hopeful that his stuff is fully coming back.

He's walked 7 times in his last 10 games! Now he just needs to hit (.233/.395/.333 in those 10 games).

He struck out 12 times in those 30 at bats. So the average is probably a little lower than expected based on a reasonable babip.

But the walks give me a lot of hope for this kid if he can maintain good patience.

Rhee only threw 70 pitches yesterday to get his 5 Ks in 6 innings:

Daytona News-Journal"]The right-hander from South Korea kept the Blue Jays batters guessing, allowing only three hits through six innings. He fanned a season-high five batters and equaled his longest outing of the season.

"He pitched a real good ballgame, except for the first," Cubs manager Buddy Bailey said. "He might've been able to go a seventh, because he threw only 70 pitches."

Rhee struggled in the first, as has been his problem lately. A two-out single by Travis D'Arnaud was followed by a blast over the left-center field wall by cleanup hitter Mike McDade.

Serrano:

Idaho Statesman"]"I've really been impressed with his poise," said Davis, who has watched Serrano pitch about five times. "He can throw three pitches for strikes. He moves his fastball around and has outstanding command."

Serrano said his fastball was clocked at 94 to 95 mph in Cuba.

"You can tell he has a baseball background," Davis said. "I hope we get to keep him a little while, but I don't think he's going to be around here too long. I think he'll be one of the first ones to (get called up to the next level)."
