It is once again time to celebrate mediocrity. For those not familiar with Hacking Mass, the objective is to assemble your dream team of hitters with the lowest OBPs and slugging percentages and pitchers with the highest ERAs but who still somehow get playing time (since hitting scores are weighted by PAs and pitching scores weighted by IPs). You can change your team until midnight Pacific time on Friday, April 11 (that's what it says on the Hacking Mass home page; I know that there isn't actually a Friday, April 11 this year). After that time (or whatever they actually mean for the deadline to be) teams are frozen and cannot be changed for the rest of the year. As usual Colorado Rockies starting pitchers are ineligible. The winner gets $399 and a signed, framed photo reproduction of Bud Selig. The top 10 receive a one-year BP Premium subscription. Since they don't allow formation of leagues we can post our teams in this thread and update scores periodically throughout the year as we have in the past.

I've replaced Parra with Carmona since Parra isn't in the Brewers' rotation.

And the Hacking Mass home page now shows a deadline of midnight Pacific time on Tuesday, April 13 (which is a real day, unlike the original Friday, April 11).

One more reminder. You have until midnight Pacific time tomorrow night to enter or make changes to your existing team.

Despite BP's claims to the contrary the game is still open and you can still make changes. Looks like anybody's guess as to when the real deadline is. Accordingly I changed from Kendall to Zaun at catcher.

I haven't been updating this since interest was so low this year, but with the season over now it seems like time. Bad year for me (tied for #449 out of 550). Carmona (-59) was my downfall. All of my other players gave me positive points, although a couple of them were only single digits.

I find it interesting to look at the last place team. That team's manager obviously doesn't understand how this contest works. His team was Joe Mauer, Albert Pujols, Chase Utley, Evan Longoria, Hanley Ramirez, Ryan Braun, Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, Roy Halladay, and Tim Lincecum.
