I'll start the discussion...

I hope that everyone who picked Joey Votto expects him not to have another panic attack stint on the DL. :hello:

I'm definitely hoping for that, because I also have him on one of my Yahoo teams.

Votto to me is never going to be a big power hitter. He is a guy that will hit .300+ and hit 25 or so HR's but I doubt he ever gets 40 HR's. Add to that the fact he is pretty injury prone and that is why he was not one of my choices.

and.....I'm one of only 2 people to go with Matt LaPorta. I honestly didn't know Heyward was even starting for the Braves right away.

But if Heyward flops or gets injured, a ton of people will be screwed....

I thought of him because my approach was to look at the BA Top 100 prospect list and find a power hitter expected to start this season in the majors. I'm not sure I would have thought of him otherwise.

laporta isn't a bad choice if he stays healthy.

last year i chose nelson cruz but also considered justin upton and russell branyan. i'm not sure if there were any options as good as those guys this year, though i suppose heyward, laporta or snider could break out and hit 30.

Well I am one of three to have Matt Wieters. If I had known Heyward was starting right off the bat I likely would have taken him. I chose Wieters over Heyward because he was definitely going to start in the majors. Heyward was a question mark when I made my pick.

And LOL at the person who picked Orlando Hudson. He has 77 HR's in 7+ seasons in the majors.

You're a little late to the party, honcho.

Have 6 today.. Unless Mauer decides he wants to help a brother out

I posted these picks to the other board Southpaw posts at. So he knows I made these picks a week before the season started. Just could get them posted here on time...and i put them in the wrong thread I guess.

If I was cheating Vernon Wells would have been one of my picks.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you a player other than Vernon who has hit a HR this year. Hockey season isn't over yet.
