Hendry strikes again

Is it really that hard to believe that an average lefty can hit righties better than an above average righty? Jim Hendry doesn't need to be admitted to an insane asylum.

Somehow a statement where Hendry says that Byrd 'fits the whole package' is talking about him negatively. It seems the left handed 'in a perfect world' comment was a way for him to address the fact that he has platoon splits like a left handed hitter making him all the better addition to the team. This stuff shouldn't be read in too literally, it was a verbal comment and Hendry's not an incredibly eloquent guy.

There is a big difference between not signing someone because he isn't left handed and signing someone who is right handed, then wishing they were left handed.

Why? Most of the teams in baseball don't make the playoffs. A dumb move is a dumb move regardless of how many other people make it.
