The CBOE auction seats at Wrigley Field wave hello.

Granted not the same level of decadence, but limiting the hoi polloi from the best seats is a MLB issue.

Just a matter of time before the Cubs install a "moat" to protect sections 15-26.

I love how during the ALCS games those seats behind home plate don't seem very full. Saturday's game was a rpime example.

Don't they have access to a ridiculous buffet and top shelf bar in a temperature controlled room? I could see why people would leave their seats often this time of year.

It appeared that many were leaving with the Yankees in the field and returning when they came to bat. Club sections at NFL stadiums are just as "empty" in brutal weather.

That was a good article. I think the author makes a mistake by correlating what's going on at Yankee Stadium with what is going on everywhere else. You can still get decent seats for reasonable prices in most every stadium. Even as defending world series champs in a relatively new stadium, I know lots of people who got face, and below face tickets for Phillies games this year (although I'm pretty sure I saw bottles of champage being delivered to those people directly behind home plate as well). There's no question the Yankees had horrible timing and over-the-top greed on this deal. The Jets and Giants (well, at least the Jets) are running into similar trouble with their season ticket base. I know people who are giving up their tickets, or at least giving up on the number they will keep in the new stadium.

Psh. Man up and be cold. You won't die.

(I'd probably eat the buffet food too for the money I'd be shelling out for those seats)
