Blah, so the only team we are going to gain ground on is Milwaukee, who is quickly becoming irrelevent. Plus, the Astros beat Santana today so they will probably sweep this weekend.

Also we will either gain ground on Colorado or SF in the Wild Card race. Right now I think SF is winning so we could be 2 games out of the Wild Card tonight.

Wild card......?

We lead the loss column..

IMHO were a better team than the Giants and Rockies, and we can take the Card. The of course theres the matter of playing the Phillies or Dodgers, but we'll see.

I agree but I'm sure not conceding the division yet.

I'm not entirely convinced that this year will be different than 2007 for the NL Central. I'd say that if the Cubs win enough games to overtake the Giants and Rockies in the wild card, they'll probably be in first place in the Central anyway, making the wild card a moot point.

Im not taking anything away from the Cubs, but I am going to say the Cardinals are really good with this new lineup. They have a lot of options. Of course pitching is huge factor. Joel Pineiro and Ryan Franklin should not be this dominant. Kyle Lohse is your run of the mill number 4 starter, but the really dont have a #5. And of course the biggest factor is Soriano, Bradley, and Soto when he returns. That really levels the field is they can get it together. Hopefully one of them will go late 2007 Jacque Jones for us.

yeah the mets are truly a disaster right now. hopefully they suck this badly when we play them in september, but unfortunately they'll probably have reyes and beltran and possibly delgado back.
