Anyone know if DJ is in Mesa yet? or when he will be suiting up for them?

I am intrigued by him.

I thought he was reporting to Boise?

He'll likely get a couple games in Mesa first.

Jericho Jones went 1-3 tonight for Daytona in one of his rare cameo DH appearances. Now batting .120 (but that batting average is understandable when the guy has 50 ab's in the 8 weeks he's been with the club.) How do you expect a player to jump in there every 4th or 5th game and produce offensively or get into any kind of rythym ? Don't know why Onieri Fleita doesn't have him on a team where he can get 300 ab's, but the outfielders on the Daytona team are older, more experienced players who are very integral parts of that team. It seems like they're wasting his season by leaving him there. I didn't know they had "bench players" in Adv A ball. Is this happenning with any of our other 2008 draft picks still in our system ?

Ive never seen Chris Carpenters mug shot before. goofy looking dude. I always pictured him looking like that other guy with the same name. Apparently, he was also drafted by the Tigers in the 7th round in 2004 and the Yankees in the 18th round in 2007 before we got him last year.

Speaking of injury, has anyone heard anything about Brad Snyder lately? Last I heard, he was expected back at the end of June, and thats long since passed.

Gee, I wonder if bringing him out to pitch after a 45 minute rain delay had anything to do with that?

Yeah, the Cubs were wreckless even if you don't consider his surgical history.

Daytona News-Journal[/url]"]When it was determined scheduled starter Chris Carpenter would skip his turn in the rotation because of a sore elbow, Cubs manager Buddy Bailey was able to confidently write Muschko's name on the lineup card because the 23-year-old has been very good in spot-start situations.

OF NOTE: Catcher Robinson Chirinos remained sidelined due to the concussion he suffered on Daytona's recent road trip. He's scheduled for additional medical evaluations today, but said he may return to action in a couple of days.

Which goes to highlight the biggest reason I put Castro over Cashner. Pitchers are too fragile.
