Sorry JYoung but I disagree. Favre was being an ass even coming out at one point and saying "What are they going to do fire me?" I can totally understand why the Packers front office made the move to go forward without Favre. Before the draft last year they asked him if he was retiring or staying. Fare started the same ol' BS and told them he wasn't ready to make the decision yet and eventually said he was retiring. The Packers moved on and made moves drafting a couple QB's on top of having Rodgers on the team. All of a sudden Favre decides he isn't ready to retire and wants to come back to a team that already wasted most of their cap money on free agents and also drafted additonal QB's. What kind of crap is that? I take the Packers side on this entire issue. How can anyone not get sick of the retired unretired crap that Favre has been pulling for the past 3-4 years?

It's truly amazing that Favre is actually contemplating showing up @ Lambeau field this fall in a Vikings uniform.

I'll bet fully 40% of Packerdom abandoned him after his move to the Jets last year. I still see Packer fans wearing those "Temporary Jets fan" hats and Jets #4 uniforms. All over the place, actually.

I know of several Packer fan friends who removed all pictures, memorabilia, etc. from their houses having to do with Favre after that betrayal.

There was a chance that time would heal those wounds.....but now, if he joins the hated Vikings??

Now he's going to show up at Lambeau, throw a TD pass or two, celebrate like the ass that he has always been.......right in those fans' faces?

Man that is just stupid. 20 years from now he might not be able to survive 10 minutes in that town. Is that really worth a solitary 11-5 season in Minny, for fans who face it don't give one damn about him beyond one shallow season's worth of football?

Favre might be a great QB, but he's a moron. He can't see the forest for the trees. He's probably got the smallest amount of big-picture perspective I've ever seen in a human being.

That is certainly an interesting take on the Favre-Packers situation. Certainly not based in facts, but interesting. What does the bolded part even mean??? The Packers front office pushed him out and were pretty darned vindictive in doing so. It was worse than how the Cubs front office throwing Sammy under the bus, because Favre hadn't committed the transgressions that Sammy had.

If it is the case that he comes back with the Vikings and "unretires" it will be the case that he had to go through this whole "retiring" charade thanks to the Packers front office and the anti-trade clauses they put in when they traded him to the Jets.

And Roast, in 15 years someone should tell you should retire from whatever job you have and that you can never do it again. I hope he's healthy and if he wants to play and someone wants him to play for him that he plays. Every athlete deserves that chance, even guys like Bonds.
