Nasty collision, there was a massive delay and both were eventually taken off in stretchers to the hospital. Towards the end of the delay, both showed movement and were seen talking.

Sounds like Campana got the worst of the collision.

it was very scary to watch, all the players were surrounding so it was hard to see them, i waited around for a while after the game to get an update to find out campana is out of hospital, yet colvin is still in, condition worsening, concussion i guess, he is blurred vision and is forgetting things?

Wow, that's surprising since it seemed like Campana got the worst of it.

Hope Colvin gets better.

Both players were released from the hospital. Sounds VERY scary:

Daytona News-Journal[/url]"]What the Cubs were concerned about was how outfielders Tyler Colvin and Tony Campana were doing after a frightening collision in left-center field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark resulted in both players being taken off the field on stretchers and transported by ambulance to Halifax Health Medical Center.

"It was very scary," said Cubs catcher Mark Reed, who saw the collision from Daytona's bullpen. "That's the worst collision I've ever seen. Something like that puts a sick feeling in your stomach and you just want them to know that they're in your thoughts and prayers."

Both players had aggressively gone after a hard line drive off the bat of Clearwater's Dominic Brown. They collided at full speed and were sprawled motionless on the turf.

"When I got to them Tony was out," right fielder Jonathan Wyatt said. "(Campana's) eyes were turned right and he wasn't awake. He had some blood in his mouth. It was pretty scary. I wanted to help him. I kept saying, 'Tony, wake up.' "

Teammates immediately rushed to Colvin and Campana. They waved for Cubs athletic trainer Bob Grimes, who rushed out of the dugout along with Cubs manager Buddy Bailey, the rest of Daytona's coaches and numerous players.

Officials called 9-1-1 and within minutes responders were on the field. Both players were taken to the hospital for precautionary tests.

Both players were released after undergoing test. Bailey said both players suffered concussions and are day-to-day.
