What is on Aramis' Glove?

I've been wondering what this is on Aramis' glove, it looks like padding of some kind, but I'm wondering if it's something I'd be able to buy for my glove as it's padding has been wearing thin lately.

 

What I'm talking about is right under his index finger.

I knew teammates that used to cut pieces of a sock, or whatever, and glue it to that part of the glove. It kept the bottom of your finger from getting rubbed raw.
