Keeping up with the Grand Slam totals:

As of right now there have been 36 grand slams hit this year.

Only 6 teams have NOT hit a grand slam so far this year, they are Arizona, Atlanta, Houston, LA Angels, Oakland, and San Diego.

7 teams have hit 2 Grand slams, One team has hit 3 (Tampa Bay), and Philadelphia leads the pack with 4.

Comparatively, last year there were 124 Grand Slams hit, so we're over a quarter of the way there already. Also, the White Sox led all of baseball with 12 last year and the league average for GS per team was 4.

BUMP.

With albert hitting GS number 5 on the year yesterday (wow), I decided to go ahead and bump this and see how the totals look now:

This year, there have been 92 grand slams hit in Major League Baseball;

- 39 in the AL

- 53 in the NL

For comparison, last year there were 124 grand slams hit in Major League Baseball;

- 72 in the AL

- 52 in the NL

So, the NL has already surpassed last years mark but the AL has a little ways to go.

Also, Philly leads all of baseball with 8 grand slams. Pujols has more grand slams this year than all but 7 teams in baseball (not counting his own, obviously).

Finally, I should add that this does not count any GS's hit today and according to the game thread a pitcher from the Giants has already hit one today.
