Does anyone know whether it is possible to get MLB Gameday Audio through the Nintendo DS web browser? I'm considering buying a DS and this would definitely be a deciding factor.

This. Neither of the versions of the Opera browser for Nintendo's two Internet-enabled hardwares have the media functionality necessary for this to be possible.

 

Once MLB releases the new version of their iPhone app, however, it will be possible on that gizmo.

You can't get to any of the MLB media services with the Safari browser and you can only get the Gameday Audio feeds because they're programming the functionality for it into the next build of the MLB.com At Bat app. I wouldn't imagine they'll be including live MLB.TV game streams anytime soon because of the relatively massive data flow it would require, even for video the size of the iPod/iPhone's screen. That might be passable on a good Wi-Fi connection but I imagine it would just be a mess on the iPhone's cellular data network. That's why they do it as they do now - short, pre-edited video highlights that don't cause smoke to come out of the gizmo's ears.
