I wish Mitchell would have fallen to 31.

 

I would have been very excited had that happened. Mitchell has some holes in his swing, but I think they are very correctable. He hasn't been playing baseball fulltime until this season.

Wow. For a team that doesn't have a ton of power, they have shown it when they need it in Omaha. Texas and LSU for the title, two of the best programs in history. I'm still excited.

Yeah, that thing was hammered. Went over the big wall behind the normal wall in dead center (408 ft, I believe, to the normal fence). Had to be about 450.

watching Mitchell play in this series is what it must have been like to watch Jackie play in 1947. He's the only black dude for miles it seems. LSU may actually have another black player I think...

How about DJ? Homer, 2-out, 2-run double in the 9th to tie it, draw a walk & steal 2nd, 3rd on the error, score the winning run. And he played solid defense.

 

Coleman was killing me with those BP fastballs he was throwing, but he battled considering the conditions. I can't imaging what those two catchers feel like right now.

LSU is going to give Austin Ross the start tonight instead of going to Anthony Ranaudo on short rest.

This concerns me a bit, but at least it means Ranaudo would be available for the deciding game if it comes to that.

 

Also, everyone in LSU's bullpen except for Matty Ott should be available tonight. Rumor is that if it gets close late, Coleman could return tonight to pitch out of the pen even though he started last night.

Jungmann looked great tonight, he could be a serious prospect in two years. CG for a true freshman in the CWS, not too shabby.

 

I'm not feeling too bad considering Texas should have won game 1, and played great in game 2. A little worried that LSU's offense is fixing to break out.
