That is such a stupid rule... seriously... he was trying to block it not run into the kicker. I know it's a rule blah blah blah but I still think it's dumb.

I normally agree that kickers and QBs are coddled a bit too much but that's a no brainer call. The punter is defenseless in that position.

Tillman went right through him. It's quite dangerous.

Tillman was a half a second away from blocking that kick, it isnt stupid, its football.

I think football is WAY too pussified, but the punter is literally hung out dry when kicking.

When are unnecessary roughness calls NOT a fraction of a second from not happening?

really? what's he hanging by? I've never noticed any wires or that punters are particularly wet. They usually don't even sweat.

And you can't make a rule and say it's okay if it's "close."

Are you being obtuse on purpose? The punter is usually in the air (thus the word "hung") in those situations.

So he's jumping in the air and staying there to dry out. that's what you said. if you had not written "literally" it wouldn't have drawn any notice.

Of course, no one ever says "hung out to dry" and means it literally these days.

olsen got beat but if he didnt, garza got beat as well..

in his defense, tillman came down right on the kicker's knee. could have been ugly if he didn't get his spike up.
