Apparently, the Marlins 1st and 3rd base coaches were standing way out of their boxes, and Manuel thought they could be able to read the signs better from where they were, so he complained to the umps. It's whining, but not that big of a deal. I wouldn't normally say anything about it.

However, the Marlins then complained about Myers having a tatoo on his forearm that was "distracting" to the hitters. It never bothered them every other time he's faced them in the last 3.5 years since he got it, but they decided to complain tonight and force him to wear sleeves. It's probably a bit of one-upmanship, but I thought it was a pretty pathetic move on the Marlins part. Requiring coaches to stay in their designated areas is one thing, trying to mess with the other teams pitcher is another. Not that I had alot of respect for this Marlins team before that, but I have less now than I did before.

Theres a big difference between whining and gamesmanship. This is gamesmanship.

One side kept it off the field (i.e. coaches, not players), the other chose to target the opposing SP. I think that's weak.

What's weak is letting something like this bother you.

That and beating your wife.

Conclusion: Brett Myers is weak.

Or smart.

Or both.

It's a smart move to try and mess with a pitcher, but it's weak to complain about a freaking tattoo. It's a good move if I was a Marlins fan, but it seems really annoying and petty to me since I'm not.

Little League has a rule that bans any kind of sticker on a batting helmet. It's really annoying when one of the other team's coaches calls attention to this. I guess they get some kind of competitive edge, though I couldn't say what that was. I hate this kind of BS.
