Can you imagine if the Brewers went 5-4 instead of 2-7 over this stretch? They would be 1.5 games out of first. I mean if you think NSBB is bad now, imagine how bad it could be. I think mods would lock the entire forum for one week.

Just imagine the Cubs had played to their season average of .600, instead of .800, over that 25-6 stretch before this 1-8 skid?

I dont know about this one. If the Cubs want to lower that magic number, they might have to do the unthinkable and win their own damn game.

I'd say its a given. DBR has no reason to care anymore this season, so unless CC inexplicably starts throwing BP, this game's pretty much over already, even at just 1-0 in the b3rd.

Hasn't this stretch of baseball taught anyone that the team that should win doesn't always win?

It's almost comical to call a 1-0 game over in the 2nd or 3rd inning. I don't care who is playing.

Damn. I'm following on gameday, what did Jay Bruce do to commit the error?

1-0?

That's enough if CC goes 9 (which he will)

Keep pace, Cubs!

Based on that logic, the only way the Reds had a chance of winning was if they went into extras and maybe scored off the pen then.
