Completely disagree. Kane started it with an elbow then bailed and took a shot or two as he tried to get out of there.

 

Disagree, the NHL teams have given Kane cheap shots when they can since he join the league. I do think Kane needs to grow up, but I don't blame him one bit if he feels frustrated that every team in every game takes their cheap shots at him. He needs to grow thicker skin, I know, but he also has to show he can't be bullied. So I don't have a problem with him throwing elbows.

 

just play through it. if he reacts like that it just gives teams more incentive to keep doing it, because it takes him off of his game. all the teams are looking for is that reaction, and he's not showing that he can deal with physicality very well. the players don't care if he can be "bullied" or not, they're just trying to irritate him.

Well, that was interesting.

 

The Blues fans were going absolutely insane at all the missed opportunities they had. And I can't blame them. It should've been a 5-1 game or so for St. Louis, no question.

 

D looked slow, passing in the offensive zone wasn't crisp. And the Hawks "put everything on net" mentality led to a TON of blocked shots.

 

Either way, obviously it was a fun game to be at due to the outcome, but any other team in the league and this would've been a blowout.

Exactly. He has gone 9/10 games without a point now, and it's all while teams realized hitting him takes him off his game because he gets all bent out of shape.

I was going to say Kane hacks someone...then gets hit back and starts whining and backing off. I don't want him getting into it, but don't start it and then back away and make people fight for you. Ever since Cleary hit him he's been invisible IMO

 

probably because he is playing with a high ankle sprain....and yes kane's way of retaliating and defending himself is to high stick/slash....what else is he supposed to do.

he doesn't...if he did, he would do it 2-3 times a game. anyways, his struggles will probably end soon, as he seems to be skating a lot stronger as his ankle heals. there was a good stretch after that cleary hit where he maybe should of just sat out and rested it but played through it (props to him).

Obviously credit is due Huet for the way he's been playing lately. But I'm also impressed with the "fire" he has shown over the last week. Against Buffalo and last night guys got in his face and he got up and gave it right back to them.

 

And speaking of goalies, an odd postscript from last night. After the Blues goal, a section up in the upper level started chanting "BELFOUR!" I can't decide if it was funny or not.

Yeah. West coast trip for three, then a trip to Canada for three. I think we make a stop home for one game before going out to Atlanta and Florida for three and a trip to STL is in there somewhere as well.

Thankfully, I don't worry about the Blackhawks as long as they are within 2 goals at the 30:00 minute mark of the game. The Hawks average a lot more goals in the 2nd half than they do the 1st. As much as it has sucked watching the Hawks this period... they completely dismantled the trap last time they played the Wild... we still got 40 minutes, folks.
