He was converted to catcher.

that would explain why he played third base today.

He's not the full-time catcher, at they get moved around down there. It looks like he last caught on Sunday and Monday, batted DH, and is now playing 3B today.

i guess my beef is that he's really a non-prospect at this point and he's taking playing time away from somebody who might be.

It's Mesa. I wouldn't worry so much about it.

I can't believe Dallas McPherson is still in AAA for the Marlins... 28 homers now? wow

Edit: And his 7th straight game with a HR

yeah i was gonna say, it feels like iowa has been playing the isotopes for about a week straight, and it also feels like mcpherson has hit a home run in every game. i guess the part about mcpherson hitting a home run every game is true.

wonder if he'll ever get another shot in the bigs. i figure at worst he is a righthanded russell branyan.

He bats lefty I was pretty sure. But "at worst" is a lot worse, he could be Brad Eldred or the current Wily Mo Pena or he could never stay healthy...

Parker hasnt been on my radar at all. Now looking, impressive #s at Peoria this year and this promotion to AAA is even faster considering the dude was a hitter in college for 3 years and last year was the first year he really had some innings on the mound. It'll be interesting to see what he can do in Iowa

Parker was at the edge of my radar. The guy was doing really well in Peoria, but he was doing it as a reliever and was a bit old for the league. Had he moved up to Daytona and repeated his performance, I would have taken more notice.

Apparently he was promoted to Iowa due to Iowa's two double headers in two days. No corresponding move was made to replace him on the Chiefs.

he had a .755 OPS in his previous big league action; i'm pretty sure he'd be better than brad eldred or the current wily mo pena. you are right about one thing though, he does bat lefty.
