Take two of three against the team from the south side and the Tampa series becomes a distant memory. It took until game 73 for the Cubs to lose 3 in a row, so I'm not all that disgusted by the sweep. Had the Cubs executed in any of these games they would have took two of three. However, they didn't and when you don't against good teams, you lose.

They are clearly missing Soriano and if big Z is lost for any length of time it's going to be fight til the end.

I hope this sweep has ticked them off and they pummel the other team in town. Back to back weekends with White Sox should make it very easy to forget about the last 3 games they played.

Time to shut up Kenny Williams, Ozzie Guillen and all White Sox fans over the next two weekends. With the O's mixed in between, I think 5-4 or 6-3 should be well within reach.

Should be an interesting series. The Cubs are in the midst of their longest losing streak of the year (3), and the White Sox just completely bludgeoned the Pirates. Hopefully we can cool off their bats and get ours going again. As much as I hate to call a 3 game losing streak a "funk", I hope coming back to Wrigley will bust them out of this funk. You know it's going to be a circus type atmosphere, so the crowd should be roaring. Lets put together a solid game tomorrow and just build from that.

I felt it...Lee is waking up. I especially like that the HR was opposite field.

Lee's been away for the past two weeks.

i hate to dredge up bad memories, but for games 1 and 2 in tampa, i had real good looks at the strike zone. i'm convinced that the cubs, d-rays and umpires had no idea where the strike zone was for 25 innings. a few more observations from tampa:

1. the fans are real sensitive about the sports media not saying that the team is from st. petersburg or tampa bay. they whine that the team is from TAMPA. when your team wins something significant or is good for more than more than 4% of your history, then you can cry about it.

2. tampa has some of the worst frontrunning baseball fans i have ever seen.

3. you would hear calling for more cowbell more appropriate here. at slugger field. maybe. major league teams don't call for more cowbell as a cheap gimmick.

4. the d-rays should be grateful that cubs fans from all over came and filled that dump of a stadium for three games because other than any remaining yankee and red sox games left on the schedule it's not going to get filled again. by the way, nice showing you had there friday night. sweep the cubs, the best team in baseball and follow that up with a lacklustre effort from the fans and the team against the astros of all teams. thanks tampa. thanks a whole heck of a lot.

please sweep the socks tomorrow. and by sweep, i mean annihilate.

Wow. I can't really do anything other than laugh at that.
