meh i don't blame the cubs for not keeping hamilton... it's hard to believe that a guy with that past who really hadn't played above A-ball could stick with a big league team, let alone one expected to contend for the division. it's an entertaining game of "what if," but not an egregious mistake.

And besides, the Cubs never had any intention of keeping Hamilton. Didn't they draft him specifically at the Reds' request?
