I remember last summer there was talk of sending a prospect package including Pie to KC for Greinke. Were there ever any serious discussions with The Royals, or was it just rumors?

 

I know hes pretty much untouchable now, but that would have been huge.

I don't think the Cubs were ever going to send Pie. I think they were trying to give up a couple of middle of the road prospects for Greinke. It doesn't matter anyway, the Cubs would have him in the pen right now.

No. I think that the convo would have to start with Pie and Hill and go from there. You might wind-up with a Pie, Hill, Ceda package at the end of the day. I am not sure what I think about that.
