Number of Major League keepers (not just points, but actual number of players.)

The inclusion of points in off-season trades.

And this is not exactly an offseason issue, per se, but I also think that all players drafted in this year's draft should have to go into the draft next year, and not be subjected to the waiver wire.

I would like to see the keeper limits (both points and total number of keepers allowed) set before the trade deadline. For the record, I felt lke 1800 points was the right number.

Also, I think we should revisit the question of pitchers starts per week. I'd like to see us go to 7 total starts per week. It would make rosters easier to manage during weeks when some of us are not very available, and it more closely resembles an actual MLB schedule.

Finally, I'd love to see two teams join the league. (Heck, 4 would be great, too)

Okay, those are my thoughts for today.

Pitching points.

I have been thinking this for a while, but was waiting for a no-hitter or perfect game to see the impact it would have. The impact is too high.

Seriously, if Ellsbury does not make that great diving catch, should Lester have really lost 25 points? Or, does he deserve 25 points for Ellsbury making a ridiculous grab? The no-hitter puts way too much emphasis on the pitcher. Likewise, if a guy throws a perfect game, is it really worth 25 points more than a guy who throws a no-hitter, does not walk anyone, but his defense commits an error to lose the perfecto?

Points for both events are much too high.

CG should be worth a few extra points (5). Shutouts should also be worth 5 points (the net would be 10 since you have to record a CG to record a SHO.) No-No's should only be worth 10 additional points, and Perfecto's an additional 15. In each case, you still earn an additional 20 and 25 points, respectively. MUCH better than the current 35 and 60.

OKay, adding to my thoughts..

Additional DL spots? 3 is tight, especially in a league where you only have 23 roster spots anyway. I wonder if we could do 24 and 4? Maybe add another RP to active rosters.

If we had 4 active RP and 7 start limits per week, it would more closely resemble a Major League team.

Personally, I like the 10 start rule because it makes people dig a little deeper at finding hidden gems and it takes luck out of the game by only having 7 starts.

If we want to add another active spot & DL spot, then I am down with the change. Either way, no team is ever going to win a championship as long as I am in the league.

Two thoughts (one old and one new)...

Expansion. Seriously. We could use 2-4 new players to spice things up.

Later trade deadline. We can use the MLB Trade Deadline excuse, but good players continue to get moved before the waiver deadline, and since we don't have one of those, it would be nice to be able to deal as long as MLB teams get to deal.
