Sorry but mabe this thread belongs in Rants but I just waited a half hour, to wath Peter Gammons give a report from Spring Training. The announcer mentioned that he was in Arizona. In the background you could see Cub players doing sprints but not once, did they talk about the Cubs. Unbelieveable! What a idiotic network. Edited by Sweet Swinging Billy

Yes they did. Nothing of significance though or nothing we haven't heard before. Briefly talked about the Dempster "prediction" and how the addition of Fuku's LH bat and OBP will help the Cubs, then he quickly went to news about one of the Yakees or Red Sox. Can't remember as I turned it immediately.

ESPN pisses me off this way.

Whenever they do an extended piece on a National League player, they'll always show him doing well against the Cubs. Just watch the next time they do it. If he's a pitcher, there's a 90% chance they'll show him striking out at least one Cubs batter. If he's a hitter, you'll see him hitting a home run or stealing a base or making a great catch against the Cubs.

it's because Wrigley has the nicest looking background for highlights. seriously.

I could see that.

I noticed this when I was younger, much younger, like 6 to 11 years old that a lot of baseball card photos were taken at Wrigley. I haven't bought a baseball card in more than 20 years so I don't know if it's still this way. But I think you are exactly right.

Interesting. Maybe they came back in the next half hour and talked about the Cubs but I know for a fact, when I was watching it-- they didn't. For years, I have always felt like they have slighted the Cubs.

I watched it for about 2 minutes and they did talk about the Cubs.

I think this is because it is easier to get highlights of Cub games since they are always on t.v. I know pretty much all teams are on t.v. now, but I think it is easier for them to get highlights from Comcast or WGN instead of some local affiliate or station owned by the team.

That's true. I don't know anymore as I no longer collect, but the 80's/90's baseball cards had Wrigley for many backgrounds. Its just too pretty mid-season.

Is it just me but do you guys have any interest in watching the 1:30pm (CST) Andy Pettitte News Conference? As far as I'm concerned I could care less. I would like the focus to be more on other players that are reporting to camp. I guess ESPN just wants the focus to be on their precious Yankees. Please. I could care less. For me, another reason to hate ESPN.
