Hughes would easily be #1 for me, with Stoney coming in 2nd. I know this sounds terrible, but I couldn't stand Harry toward the end of his career. I actually enjoyed it when Thom B. and Wayne Lerivee(sp?) filled in for him.

How could the truth be terrible? It was DeWayne Staats (sp?) that worked with Thom B. in the all "Learn how to spell your own name correctly" booth.

I don't agree. For me the entertainment is what is important. Let's face it baseball can be very boring at times. Harry, like Ron is not the best person to ever give insightful commentary, but each of them were/are great entertainers in their own way.

I have to go with Harry, just because he was my inspiration to get into broadcasting.

I love hearing Len and Bob. Len is one of the best prepared broadcasters the Cubs have ever had, and he does a better job of interviewing than Chip ever did.

Len Kasper is such an improvement over Chip Caray it's not even funny. While I like Brenly, I wish someone would hire him to manage their team into the ground so Stoney could get back in there. Kasper/Stone would be so freaking sweet.

My favorite Chip Caray boner was 6/19/04 when Barrett had that game winning RBI against Oakland. I think that was the game. So anyways, Chip is all, "the Cubs come back against the closer, that almost NEVER happens in baseball".

Pardon me?

Actually, I believe that was in a game against Houston where Brad Lidge blew a save. I could be wrong.

That very well could be, do you know what date that game was by any chance?

Gotta go with the Brick, as he was the man I listened to as a kid.

Harry #2

Len #3

Stone #4, though I came to strongly disagree with his assessments over time

Not positive at all. I believe it was sometime in July in 2004. Sammy hit a walkoff in extra innings against Houston.

That was July 1, 2004 for the record.
