When I was doing my research on my thesis paper about Cobb, Speaker, and Jackson in undergrad, I had to read on microfilm a good bit of those old sports columns and they are always hilarious.

 

"the Yankees were as comfortable as a lamplighter in a gunpowder factory"....

 

that's beyond outstanding.
