What has the Baseball Playeers Associatiion ever done for the average fan other that contribute to an increase in ticket prices by boosting the average players salary up to $2.7 million and stonewalling baseball on drug testing under the guise of "privacy" and thereby being a major contributor to the current steroid and HGH debacle in major league baseball?

well there's no real link between ticket price raises and salary increases. It's the other way around. Higher demand for the sport raises the ticket prices as owners maximize profit, higher profits lead to higher salaries.
