versus the Rockies. Just heard on ESPN that of all the playoff teams this year, only the Cubs had a winning record against Colorado. Go figure. I do know however, that if the Cubs were to play them now-- they wouldn't stand a chance.

It's true that you never know but it's too bad we didn't win more games during the regular season. It sure would have been great to have home field advantage. It's certainly not a guarantee we would have faired better but late in the season we were playing great at Wrigley and were a hard team to beat. It would have been nice for the players to have the fans cheering their every move. The 2007 Rockies remind me a lot of the 2003 Marlins, although I think the Rox are hotter team than Florida.

We swept them in Wrigley when we were red hot and they were streaky. I think they were in the middle of a long losing streak when we played them. One of the games was the game where we were up 7-2 in the 9th and they scored 6 runs and then we score 2. Either way, nice sweep.

In Coors, although we took the first 2 games, we were in the middle of a bad stretch of baseball, and I never really thought we were outplaying them all that much. Eventually the Rockies came back and took the next 2 in convincing fashion. One was a Rich Hill blowup, and the other was a solid 9 inning victory. Either way, I have no doubt that we'd get blown out in 4-5 games if we played them right now.

The Rockies have been THE story in this post-season, but the World Series is going to be alot different for this team because they will be facing a complete club in Cleveland or Boston.

Either team has a monster size advantage in the starting rotation (Francis would be the third starter in Cleveland or the Boston rotation) and both Cleveland and Boston are just as good offensively if you go up and down the lineups.

The saving grace for Colorado is that bullpen and there incredible defense. If the Rockies starters can get the lead through six innings, the magic rolls on...

The two best hitters on both the Indians and Red Sox are absolutely wretched playing First Base though... so if the Indians make it, they'll have a real bad defensive 1b and Catcher to have their best offensive lineup. I don't know how much of an impact that will play though.

Pronk knows not what defense is. He could give up 7 runs a game, but it's OK because he's going to create 15.

As UMF points out, timing is everything. Good luck to the Indians or Red Sox... I don't think there's any team right now, NL or AL that can beat the Rockies.

After 8 or 9 days off? I wonder if the Rox will come out a little cold.

Didn't they have 5-6 days off before this last series? They didn't look cold.

The Rockies have been unbelievable the past month. I am really interested to see how the 8-9 day layoff affects them. I can't figure out how they are so good with the starting pitching they have. No one really stands out statistically - but I guess that you have to consider where they play home games when you look at the numbers.

I think the Indians and Red Sox are both better than the Rockies and they could easily beat them.
