This is on the front page of ESPN.com right now. This guy sounds pretty good. He's committed to winning AND to preserving Wrigley. I like Cuban, but has he come out on the long-term future of Wrigley yet?

Anyway, here's the article:

As for the bolded...I'd risk it. I know that Cuban will take the right approach to building a team. He's a stats oriented guy and a very forward thinker. If he sees it fit to tear down Wrigley at some point in the near future (which I doubt he would), so be it. I care far more about the on field product than anything else.

As do I. Winning comes first. But can you imagine going to a Cubs game without that Wrigleyville atmosphere? The outside vendors, Waveland Avenue, etc? Even if the Cubs have to play "on the road" for a year while Wrigley is renovated, I'd be ok with that.

Of course I want a World Series Championship. But it just wouldn't be the same without Wrigley.

I'm pretty sick of this Wrigley Field is hurting the Cubs finances nonsense. It's pure Tribune Company Propaganda IMO. What a load of crap. They still sell out every single game with some of the highest ticket prices in baseball. We'll see how economically viable the Cubs are when we see how much they sell for. These rich dudes aren't stupid.

As long as the guy cares about winning in addition to finances, I don't care who owns the team. It will be a refreshing change over the money grubbing Trib.
