He beat out Cardinals farmhand Christopher Perez to have the lowest BAA in the minors.

There may be a downside to his numbers, but now is not the time to dwell on such things. Congratulations!

the downside is he was walking everyone that wasn't getting a hit -- 65 BB in 96.3 IP

If he can get it down to around 0.5 BB/IP, he'll be fine. Bob Feller had a BB/IP rate of nearly 0.5 for much of his career. Our own Carlos Zambrano is similarly at nearly 0.5. You can argue that a reliever is death with a high walk rate, but I don't see the comparison if a guy starts his own inning as Ceda usually does. He needs to improve his control some, but he has plenty of time to figure it out.

feller also played in an era where the HR wasnt as big of an offensive weapon. the notion he needs to get his BB/IP just down to .5 and hell be fine is stupid and downright wrong. terrible assumption.
