Rome asked Theriot about his success since moving into the leadoff spot, to which Theriot said it wasn't too big of a change, just took his same hitting approach while taking a couple more pitches. Theriot credits Lee, Ramirez and Jacque for helping carry the team while Soriano's been out.

Rome followed up asking if Theriot moves back to the two hole when Soriano, or if he wants to stay at leadoff. Theriot: "I'll gladly move. [soriano]'s one of the premier leadoff hitters in the game." Said he loves to hit in front of Lee and behind Soriano. Mentions a pitcher and catcher worrying about Soriano stealing, and not wanting to walk him to get to Lee and Ramirez, so it's great spot to hit.

Rome mentions us fans tabbing him "the Riot." Theriot says he's a "first-name guy" who prefers friends to call him Ryan.

Theriot mentions his comfort level with double-play partner Fontenot. Says their communication is great: "We really don't even have to talk too much. I just kind of give him a look, and he gives me a look back, and we just said a sentence without saying a word."

Theriot credits Bobby Dickerson and Von Joshua for doing "a great job grooming us and getting us ready for the major leagues." Theriot calls Joshua a "genius."

One thing I never knew about Theriot is that he didn't start switch hitting until the minors. Dickerson and Joshua kept pushing Theriot on switch hitting even though Theriot wanted to give it up.

That interview was phe-nominal. In-credible.

Hehe. I crack myself up on that one.

RACK THAT POST!

Seriously, I don't care what Ryan says. I'm still calling him The Riot.

It'd be a bit odd to shout 'Well played, Ryan!' at him from the stands. People would think you were his mum or something.
