Branyan is Three True Outcomes to the extreme. 76 of his 146 PA's this year were BB, K, or HR. .192 BA and still a .748 OPS.

This dolt on 670 (national program) says that the Cubs have an interest in Branyan. I'm not really taking it for anything, but he also says that Hendry is interested in Dunn and that the Cubs are "heavily" scouting Livan Hernandez.

 

Once again, the guy seems like a complete idiot (as all national hosts usually are), so take it for what it's worth.

He's underrated as a hitter, unless you have a complete chubb for batting average. But there's really not a good place for him on the Cubs right now.

i've always liked branyan, but i'm not sure if he would fit on this team. he's still fairly young and only a year removed from a very productive part-time season.

Branyan is a useful fringe player on a bad offense. Luckily, the Cubs have enough depth not to need his services.

he would be a nice fit if they find a taker for Jones and Ward is going to be out for an extended period of time he would make a useful left handed power bat off the bench.
