Update: The I-Cubs manager said both Pie and Kroeger were pulled due to injury.

 

 

I Posted this in Minor Leagues but find it appropriate to post it here too.

Felix Pie and Kroeger were pulled in the 4th also if that fits into anyone's conspiracy theories. got pulled in the 4th in Iowa and may be called up, injured, or a trade is coming.

I will keep you updated.

How do you know it's not an injury?

 

If it is an actual trade and Pie is on his way out, maybe we're getting Dunn and he's waiting for us in Cincy :)

Kronger got pulled too so I assume it isn't 2 injuries.

Only the Cubs would have that

The fact that Kroeger was also pulled makes it that much more interesting. I'm guessing a trade just went down. Pie is either on his way to meet the team in Cincy or we just made a really big trade that involved Pie.

You beat my thread for the same exact thing. Here is what I posted. I'm going to start listening to the Iowa audio feed and see if they talk about anything happening:

 

Iowa debuted the bat of Matt Craig today pinch-hitting for Pie in the 4th inning. He can play either 1B or 3B. Scott Moore should start playing 3rd soon back down in Iowa.

 

Him coming up allows Josh Kroeger to move back to LF from 1B and Buck Coats to move to CF from LF. Even though Eric Patterson is playing both 2B and LF today. It only makes sense to me...

 

Could there also be a trade of Jaque Jones in the works?

Well it's possible Aram and Floyd are hurt too...

 

Aram hopefully was taken out because of the score (although it was only 6-1 at that point) and Floyd fouled a ball off himself pretty badly. I doubt word got to Iowa that fast though.

Floyd maybe, I don't think ARam is hurt though, I mean it's a possibility but I think it was just because of the score. Plus, I don't think they would already have decided to call someone up until knowing the severity of any injury that might have occurred.

It's possible, but if it was an injury, they would probably wait until after the game or most likely tomorrow to assess the situation fully. This definitely raises eyebrows. If pie is traded then we got a stud, but more than likely IMO, Jones(or somebody else) was traded and pie is taking the extra roster spot.

Hendry is stupid with contracts, but for the most part he has been fairly good/average with trades. He knows that Pie is and deserves to be this organizations best prospect. Bullpen isn't the cubs biggest need and it's not even close. Dempster has been solid as well as marmol, wuertz and howry as set up men. I have faith that he's not THAT stupid.

 

I'm calling it now, if Pie is traded, then it is for Ken Griffey Jr.

 

ps-I still think someone less important (jones) was traded.
