Anyone remember this from 2001? Ironically it happened only 2 days before that crazy Cubs/Rockies finish. The Indians down by 12 with 2 outs in the 7th rally to beat Lou Piniella's Mariners in extras on August 5, 2001. I hated the M's that year so it's a great memory for me. I'm not sure there is video anywhere but this flash project has the radio calls and it's pretty cool:

I don't think Lou will ever let that happen again. After watching that, I can't believe the Mariners had one of the best seasons ever that year.

I remember watching that game somehow, I dunno if ESPN switched over to it or if it was on national broadcast or what, but it was an amazing game.

It probably seemed like ESPN showed it because I remember BBTN was giving updates over and over. I have a feeling it was like a Monday night game or something though.

If I remember correctly, the Cubs-Dodgers were the Sunday Night Game that night, and they kept showing updates of the Indians-Mariners game. I think that was the game that Sammy hit a HR off Jeff Shaw (?) with 2 outs in the 9th to tie it up. The Cubs ended up losing the game though, I believe.

Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.
