CIN @ ATL [Probables B. Arroyo (3-10, 4.78) vs J. Reyes (10-1, 3.08, 1.34 WHIP in minors]

STL @ FLA [Probables: B. Thompson (6-3, 5.10) vs R. Vanden Hurk (2-2, 8.38)]

ARI @ MIL [Probables: Y. Petit (1-1, 3.12) vs C. Vargas (6-2, 4.52)]

PHI @ LAD [Probables: J. Durbin (0-2, 13.50) vs M. Hendrickson (4-4, 3.92)]

NYM @ SD [Probables: El Duque (5-4, 3.20) vs J. Peavy (9-3, 2.19)]

 

 

Not particularly encouraging matchups for our interests... but go Reds, Marlins, D'backs, Phils and Mutts!

I'm at the point I'm not even caring about Milwaukee. Give them a couple of weeks without Sheets. They'll start a little losing streak soon enough. Plus our position in the wild card is very good. My focus is hoping this team can get to 10 games above .500. That would be a nice goal for the near future.

Every time the Cubs win, they essentially gain a 1/2 game on the league. Every time the Cubs lose, they essentially lose a 1/2 game on the league.

 

As long as the Cubs keep winning, they'll gain ground in the league.

I'm at the point I'm not even caring about Milwaukee. Give them a couple of weeks without Sheets. They'll start a little losing streak soon enough. Plus our position in the wild card is very good. My focus is hoping this team can get to 10 games above .500. That would be a nice goal for the near future.

 

There will be time for the Cubs to gain ground (like when the Brewers play on the road).

Or whenever they're playing Arizona and we're playing San Francisco.
