Well, I stand up next to a mountain

And I chop it down with the edge of my hand

Well, I stand up next to a mountain

Chop it down with the edge of my hand

Well, I pick up all the pieces and make an island

Might even raise just a little sand

'Cause I'm a voodoo child

Lord knows I'm a voodoo child

I didn't mean to take you up all your sweet time

I'll give it right back to you one of these days

I said, I didn't mean to take you up all your sweet time

I'll give it right back to you one of these days

And if I don't meet you no more in this world

Then I'll, I'll meet you in the next one

And don't be late, don't be late

'Cause I'm a voodoo child

Lord knows I'm a voodoo child

I'm a voodoo child

"I'm serious," Garner said. "I'm going to try to find something. I'm going to voodoo Zambrano."

"You have been sent down. Your ERA is too high," Rodriguez remembers the man saying.

Voodoo = funny.

Crank calls to players and their families = classless

Yes, going out of your way to hope for a player to get injured is real funny. :? After reading the entire article, I would say Garner is classless. Why doesn't he try to switch something up with his team and get them to perform at a higher level, rather than wishing ill upon the opposition? I fail to see in humor in it.

Because it's silly to think that a major league manager would resort to witchcraft because a pitcher dominates his team. That's funny.

It would also be funny to imagine Phil Garner working to find a voodoo priest.

It was very clearly a joke.

i think the crank call is hilarious.

i think i would say something like "you have been rendered obsolete. pack your bags and leave quietly before we call security. you will be joined by your wife and children in permanent exile."
