Ronny's 5/5. His BA is up to .387, OPS to 1.034.

Since Cedeno seems to be so very 4A, I think the wisest strategy for the Cubs would be to trade him--right now, when his value is as high as it is likely to get. Some team will overpay for his AAA numbers.

Of course, we know Hendry has no appreciation for the concept of sell high, so it'll never happen.

This should be Huseby's final line: 5 IP, 4 ER, 8 H, 4 K/1 BB, HBP. At least he recovered after his horrid first inning: 4 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 3 K/1 BB and he racked up a few strikes outs today.

Boise down 4-0 in the 6th and have gotten only 2 hits.

Iowa game log is awesome. some of my favorites...

Eric Patterson pops out sharply to first baseman Val Pascucci.

whaaaaa

Albuquerque Top 4th

* Pitcher Change: Bret Prinz replaces Ryan O'Malley, batting 8th.

* Scott Moore remains in the game as the third baseman.

we loves our double switches in this organization

Scott Moore hit by pitch. Matt Murton scores. Geovany Soto to 3rd. Bret Prinz to 2nd.

Scott Moore goes 0-1 tonight with 2 RBI - sac fly and this

* Coaching visit to mound.

* Josh Kroeger grounds into double play, second baseman Josh Labandeira to shortstop Robert Andino to first baseman Val Pascucci. Buck Coats to 3rd. Geovany Soto out at 2nd.

* Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Chris Walker replaces Bret Prinz.

* Chris Walker grounds out, pitcher Kenny Baugh to first baseman Val Pascucci.

looks like that visit worked, but....

# Coaching visit to mound.

# Reggie Abercrombie lines into a triple play, pitcher Ben Howard to shortstop Ronny Cedeno to first baseman Micah Hoffpauir. Andrew Beattie out at 2nd. Robert Andino out at 1st.

not as well as that one.

Scott Moore hit by pitch.

geez, let the guy rack up some ABs

# Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Les Walrond replaces Ben Howard.

# Les Walrond walks.

nice work Les, but ummmmm, point?

Eric Reed reaches on force attempt, missed catch error by second baseman Eric Patterson, assist to third baseman Scott Moore. Chris Ashby to 2nd.

so did Moore assist in getting the error, because no outs were recorded on the play

Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Chad Hermansen replaces Chris Young.

Cubs Snap Seven-Game Skid as Santo Rolls

By: Dan Watson

[DAYTONA BEACH, FL] The Daytona Cubs stopped a seven-game losing streak with an impressive 4-2 win over the Tampa Yankees Tuesday at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Starting pitcher Joel Santo battled through some early control problems to pick up his fifth win of the year. Meanwhile, Brian Dopirak and Kyle Reynolds each clubbed home runs for the Cubs.

Santo proved to be the stopper for Daytona as he delivered six innings, allowed a run on four hits, walked four batters and struck out six. The right-hander upped his record to 5-4 with the victory. Dopirak and Reynolds each had multi-hit games and each hit their second home runs of the series.

It was a pitcher's duel early in the game between two unlikely right-handers. Santo entered the contest with an ERA above five, while Tampa hurler Anthony Claggett came in with a 1-5 record. However, the two combined for a scoreless three innings to start the game.

The Cubs broke onto the scoreboard in the fourth. Chris Amador, Kyle Reynolds, Brian Dopirak and Alan Rick started the inning with consecutive singles. Rick's liner into right field scored Amador to give Daytona a 1-0 advantage with nobody out in the inning. The Cubs couldn't capitalize for any more runs, though, and Claggett temporarily slipped off the hook.

Daytona came up with a clutch hit in the fifth inning to extend the lead. After Matt Matulia drew a walk, Kyle Reynolds drilled a two-out, two-run homer over the wall in right field to stake the Cubs to a 3-0 lead. It was the second round-tripper of the series for Reynolds and his fourth of the year.

Santo found a groove midway through the game, retiring nine straight Yankees. That streak came to a halt in the sixth when Edwar Gonzalez blasted a two-out solo home run over the scoreboard in left-center. Gonzalez's fourth homer of the year cut the Daytona advantage to 3-1.

The Yankees chopped into the lead against reliever Scott Koerber in the seventh inning. Walter Ibarra slashed a one-out double down the right-field line, and went to third when Yusuf Carter bobbled the ball. Reegie Corona followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Ibarra and make it a 3-2 game.

Brian Dopirak padded the Cubs' lead in the bottom of the seventh off Tampa right-hander Elvys Quezada. Swinging at a 3-0 pitch, Dopirak connected for a solo rocket over the scoreboard in left-center to push the advantage to 4-2.

The Daytona bullpen held onto the lead from there, as Mike Phelps pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his first save of 2007. Claggett was tagged with the loss to drop to 1-6 on the year.

The Cubs got into the win column in the second half, moving to 1-5. The loss was the first blemish on the Yankees' record, as they fell to 4-1 in the second half.

Robert Hernandez pitched six strong innings as host Peoria beat Wisconsin, 5-2, on Tuesday.

Hernandez (3-2) allowed two runs -- one earned -- on seven hits and a walk while striking out four. Alessandro Maestri gave up two runs and fanned four in three scoreless frames for his fourth save.

Russell Canzler and Alfred Joseph each went 3-for-4 and delivered RBI singles in the third inning. Matt Camp ripped a two-run double in the second and James Adduci added an RBI double in the seventh for the Chiefs (3-3).

Reed Eastley had an RBI single in the first and Gavin Dickey lifted a sacrifice fly in the fifth for the Timber Rattlers (3-3).

Wisconsin starter Kyle Parker (3-4) surrendered four runs on eight hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings, striking out three. --Marc Jimenez/MLB.com

BoiseHawks.com[/url]"]Emeralds Ride Fast Start To Win

EUGENE, OR -- The Eugene Emeralds scored four times in the first inning Tuesday night and held on for a 5-2 win over the Boise Hawks.

In the bottom of the first inning the second batter, Eugene shortstop Lance Zawadski, touched Boise starter Chris Huseby for a home run. Three more hits in the inning, including a two-run double by Justin Baum, and the Emeralds had a 4-0 lead. Huseby pitched through the fifth inning without allowing another run even though Eugene had at least one base runner in every inning. Andrew McCormick was charged with a run in the seventh inning before Casey Lambert came in to shut down the Emeralds the rest of the way.

The Hawks scored a run in the sixth inning when Steve Clevenger and Ty Wright had back-to-back doubles. Jose Made drove in a run in the seventh inning, but that was the end of the Hawk's scoring for the evening. Dustin Gibbs picked up the win with an inning and a third of shutout relief. Matt Huff picked up his first save of the season with a walk and three strikeouts in the ninth.
