Thomas Purke, lhp, Klein HS, Spring, Texas (2009). There were seven members of the 2009 class that were invited to the tournament, and Purke was as good as anyone—regardless of class. He has a tall, lean build with a lot of room to fill out and ran his fastball into the 89-92 mph range with ease. He has a clean, easy arm action with little effort in his delivery. Purke throws from a low three-quarters arm slot that produces great arm-side run on his fastball and will also show a nasty slider. His potential appears unlimited and he should be at the very top of the 2009 draft crop.
